According to a leading online portal, central government employees can receive 1.5 years DA or high cost allowance at one time. This will be given as a one-time settlement in the amount of Rs. 2,000,000. There is no confirmed news on this but deliberations are ongoing.

Furthermore, according to a media report quoting Shiv Gopal Mishra of JCM National Council, who said that DA arrears of Tier 1 employees range from Rs. 11,800 to Rs. 37,554. Level 13 (7th CPC base salary scale from 1.23,100 rupees to 215,900 rupees) or Level 14, the DA arrears of central government employees will be 1.44,200 and 2.18,200 rupees respectively.
The dearness allowance is a component of the salary of government employees as well as pensioners. In view of rising inflation, the central government revises the DA and DR components twice a year in January and July. Moreover, it varies from one employee to another depending on whether they work in the urban, semi-urban or rural sector.
